Unleashing a Momster-book about Eden Wood

I don't know if any of you have read Unleashing a Momster, but for those of you who haven't heard of it, it was recently published by Eden Wood's former talent agent Heather Ryan. I am currently about halfway through and I'm finding it quite entertaining!

In case you didn't know this already-Mickie (Eden's mom) is a nut. She has literally spent over $100,000 on pageants, and barely made any money from Eden's wins or features on Toddlers & Tiaras. The one thing that shocked me the most though was that Eden Wood actually isn't that good. We've all believed Eden to be the star of child beauty pageants, but it turns out she's only perceived that way due to good advertising on Heather's part, and because the producers of Toddlers & Tiaras like to edit the show in ways to make it seem like she won when she didn't.

Also, you may or may not have read one of my past articles about my experience at a live beauty pageant, but I visited the Universal Royalty Beauty Pageant (often featured on T&T) and predicted that the pageant is rigged and Annette Hill picks the winner well before the pageant has begun. Turns out there is some truth to all of that according to Heather Ryan, as she states that Eden's mom is good friends with Annette, and even when Eden performs poorly she always somehow manages to pull off one of the highest titles. On top of all this, Eden is allowed a large discount on the entry fee, simply because of Annette and Mickie's friendship.

In other words, don't enter your child in the Universal Royalty Beauty Pageant. Or preferably, don't enter your child in any pageants at all.

Anyway, I recommend this book to anyone who is familiar with Eden Wood and who is an avid watcher of Toddlers & Tiaras. It is funny and entertaining, yet shocking as to what extent pageant moms will go to make their child famous.
